In honor of her sister, Kiani, the Kiani J. Rodgers Scholarship Fund was founded by Ivanna Rodgers in 2011. The scholarship was created to financially support the members of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (Lansing, MI) Mime N Motion Dance Ministry, a group in which Kiani was the creator and sole visionary. Kiani was an active member, dancer, and overseer for the ministry. She later discovered the desire to dance in younger children and created the Kids of Royalty (KOR) Dance Ministry. The education of the youth was very important to Kiani and she had a real passion for dance, music, and children. Although Kiani was not able to finish pursuing her career in higher education she was a strong advocate and avid supporter of those that have college aspirations.

 

This foundation was created in memory of daughter, sister, and great friend Kiani Rodgers. Kiani began Mime N Motion at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in 2006, and the scholarship is exclusively offered for youth that are college-bound, and participate in the ministry up until their graduating year.
